Ongoing classroom training is crucial to your success. At Paul Winkler, The Investor Coach our mission is Creating Confident Investors. We believe that the more educated of an investor you are, the more successful you will become. Often we refer to the formula: I + E > C. Our "Instincts" plus our "Emotions" are greater than our "Cognitive Ability." While we won't presume to modify the instinctive nature of people to avoid pain and move toward pleasure, we absolutely believe that by consistent education on the fundamentals of investment principles, portfolio design, diversification, risk management and so forth we can raise your "Cognitive" to a point where you aren't as susceptible to your "Instinct." Additionally, this understanding leads to confidence in your strategy helping to lessen the impact of "Emotion" in your portfolio decisions.
